Dr Anthony Hilkemeijer Registered Osteopath.  B.App.Sc.(Clin.Sc.), B.Osteo.Sc., Dip.R.M. M.A.O.A. Rehabilitation Pilates (Clinical Pilates). Neurological Integration System (NIS) practitioner.

Anthony is a principle osteopath at Inner City Osteopathy & Pilates with his wife Shannon Hesford.  He studied in Melbourne at The Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT), graduating in 2002.

Previously he worked as a osteopath in Moonee Ponds, with Gary Hancock (Naturopath).  He has since moved to Carlton, where he works out of Faraday House Health a multi- discipline centre. It was designed as a place where people would feel comfortable and their health needs would be met by friendly practioners who have a real passion for their discipline and promoting health.

Anthony has concentrated his studies to further his qualifications in Osteopathic Rehabilitation and Neurological Integration System (NIS) to improve his ability to enhance mind and body recovery and treatment.

Anthony has also undertaken Rehabiliation Pilates training of a year duration that is only available to Osteopaths, Physiotherapists, Chiropractors and Medical professionals.  He is one of only a handfull of Osteopaths to hold this extensive training.

He has traveled to the UK and Cairns to undertake his Masters training in NIS.

Anthony is not too shabby at building either.  He is the type of guy who can do anything and is passionate about improving his knowledge and helping his clients.

Post graduate education in Cranial osteopathy (SCTF & Biodynamics, including treatment of children) and special interest and training in Paediatric cranial osteopathy.

Shannon undertook her osteopathic training at Royal Melbourne Institute of Techonology (RMIT) in Melbourne, graduating in 2002.  She has since completed advanced levels of Cranial and Biodynamic post graduate studies including Treatment of Children.  As a Cranial Osteopathic practitioner, Shannon has the ability to gently enhance her treatment of paediatrics and adults who suffer from cranial dysfunctions, headaches, migraines, sinus congestion, tinitus, vertigo, blocked eustacian tubes and baby and childhood health complaints.  Cranial treatment is very gentle and relaxing; in it's subtly lies it's strength.

Shannon has a special interest in the treatment of paediatric plagiocephaly and torticollis.

Shannon has a varied style of treatment, depending on the clients particular concerns.  She has the ability to preform gentle techniques, but can also treat with massage and spinal adjustment  where needed.  However, Shannon does not manipulate infants.

Shannon is married to Anthony Hilkemeijer and together they have a son who keeps them very busy, and is an absolute joy.

Shannon was previously a researcher, lecturer, examiner and tutor at RMIT University.

Anthony would also say she's not a bad cook!

Dr Andrea McIntyre Registered Osteopath
B.Sc(Clin Sci), MHSc (Osteo), MAOA

Andrea completed her Osteopathic qualifications at Victoria University, completing her masters of Osteopathy in the field of patient communication and management.

Andrea has completed various extra curricular Osteopathic courses to develop her skills.  She has a particular interest in the treatment of women during pregnancy (obstetrics and gynocology), and spinal and sporting injuries.  She has a varied style of treatment, constantly improving her skills which are considerable.  She has the ability to treat with gentle techniques, but can also be one of the firmest and sharpest adjusters in the team.
Andrea is a keen pilates participant, she also enjoys keeping fit with yoga and going to the gym.
She can also talk the ear off an elephant.

Andrea will be overseas from early May till the 13th October.  Shannon and Susan will be taking over her shifts until she returns.

Anatomy Lecturer at Victoria University.

Susan graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor of Clinical Science and Masters of Heath Science (Osteopathy) from Victoria University. As a part of her Masters degree she conducted research into how female osteopaths combine their career with motherhood.

Previous study at the University of Melbourne and a keen interest in human anatomy has led her to a position as anatomy lecturer at Victoria University.

Susan specialises in the treatment of gastrointestinal complaints.  She also enjoys treating neck and back pain, jaw dysfunction, headaches and pregnant women. In her spare time she stays active at the gym, running and traveling.

And if the wind was to change,and she was stuck with the same facial expression, Susan would be fine as she is always smiling.

Anthony blends his Osteopathic training with his extensive Pilates knowledge to provide the benefits of Clinical or Rehabilitation Pilates to people of all conditions and abilities.
